This gives students the opportunity to create their own profile and organise their studies according to their individual strengths, interests and career goals.\r\n<br><br>\r\nA large portion of the credit is earned in the area of the individual specialization. Additionally students can choose modules from the STEM (15 CP) and non-STEM (5 CP) fields to be inserted into the respective elective areas.\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"field-std-text\">\r\n<h4>Specialised Modules Sustainable Energy Systems and Circular Process Engineering<\/h4>\r\n<p><!--In addition to the STEM elective (15 CP) and non-STEM modules (5 CP), a large portion of the credit is earned in the area of the individual specialization.-->\r\nThe specialised modules are composed of one specialised laboratory (5 CP), 2 compulsory modules (10 CP) and 5 compulsory elective modules (25 CP).\r\n<br><br>\r\nCompulsory modules in the specialisation Sustainable Energy Systems and Circular Process Engineering are:\r\n<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Numerical Methods for Internal Aerodynamics, 5 CP (<a href=\"https:\/\/vvz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/campus\/all\/fields.asp?group=Vorlesungsverzeichnis&#038;tguid=0x9D4A62BEDC1545CCA9363F44843B7C6F&#038;lang=de\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">course catalogue No. 138270<\/a>)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\t<li>Thermodynamics of Mixtures, 5 CP (<a href=\"https:\/\/vvz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/campus\/all\/fields.asp?group=Vorlesungsverzeichnis&#038;tguid=0x9D4A62BEDC1545CCA9363F44843B7C6F&#038;lang=de\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">course catalogue No. 138040<\/a>)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\t<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p>The compulsory elective modules can be chosen from a range of modules offered in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mb.rub.de\/studium-mb\/en\/downloads-englisch\/\">curriculum of the specialisation.<\/a>\r\n<br><br>\r\nThe class schedule and location of the individual classes can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/vvz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/campus\/all\/fields.asp?group=Vorlesungsverzeichnis&#038;tguid=0x9D4A62BEDC1545CCA9363F44843B7C6F&#038;lang=de\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in the course catalogue.<\/a>\r\n<br><br>\r\nFor the choice of compulsory elective modules, we recommend using an elective profile. For the elective profiles, overlap-free courses and examination dates are aimed for. The choice of compulsory elective modules from different profiles is also permissible within a specialisation. In this case, however, no organisational optimisation (overlap-free events, examination dates) can be guaranteed.\r\n<\/p> \r\n<br><br>\r\n<h4>STEM elective area<\/h4>\r\n<p> STEM modules may be elected from the range of STEM related courses in the master&#8217;s curriculum of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t Bochum (RUB), another STEM faculty of the RUB, but also from the range of courses offered by STEM faculties of other universities. The examination board decides on admissibility upon application.<\/p> \r\n<h4>Non-STEM elective area<\/h4>\r\n<p> Non-STEM modules may be elected from the range of non-STEM related master&#8217;s courses of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering or other faculties\/ Universities as long as the admission is allowed. The elective module should not contain STEM content and be useful for engineering education in general. The examination board decides on admissibility upon application.\r\n<br><br>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mb.rub.de\/studium-mb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Master.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"615\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-562\" \/><\/p> \r\n<br><br>\r\n<h4>Master\u2019s thesis<\/h4>\r\n<p>The Master\u2019s thesis (30 CP) is intended to determine whether the candidate has acquired sound knowledge and the ability to independently apply sophisticated scientific methods.
