Research Center for the Engineering of Smart Product-Service Systems (ZESS)
The combination of traditional, physical products with new digital services is giving rise to so-called smart product-service systems (smart PSS). The objective of the research center for the engineering of smart PSS called ZESS is to understand these novel market services and the resulting changes in technologies, business processes and organizational structures across disciplines and to transfer them into suitable models, methods, technologies and systems.
Ultimately, this should succeed in transferring a completely new type of engineering approach to industrial applications. The ZESS is being built on the Mark 51°7 site in Bochum.
Center for Interfacial Dominated High Performance Materials (ZGH)
The Center for Interfacially Dominated High-Performance Materials is equipped with state-of-the-art research infrastructure, including an atom probe and tomographic characterization of materials, and offers around 80 scientists space for their research work. They investigate materials for extreme conditions in an interdisciplinary way and develop them further. The ZGH is located on the RUB campus between buildings IA and IB.
